Job description

The main purpose: To coordinate and maintain storerooms, ensuring accurate stock control, safe handling of equipment, and timely support for event operations in line with CTICC standards.

 

Reporting To The: Back of House Storeroom Supervisor


Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Storeroom coordination

  • Oversee daily operations of consumable, disposable, chemical, and equipment stores.

  • Control goods receiving, ensuring quality and accuracy of deliveries.

  • Issue consumables, chemicals, and operating equipment against requisitions.

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in storerooms and scullery areas.

  • Monitor and secure equipment during storage and event transitions, adhering to safety and loss control measures.

  • Complete and submit breakage reports daily.

  • Conduct regular inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.

  • Coordinate with kitchen and event teams to meet operational requirements.

2. Staff coordination

  • Supervise labour broker staff, including sign-in/out, meal breaks, and daily briefings.

  • Ensure staff comply with CTICC standards, including dress code and facility use.

  • Provide guidance and support to staff to maintain service excellence.

3. Administration and stock control

  • Perform weekly and monthly stock counts of consumables, crockery, cutlery, and glassware.

  • Assist with annual stock take of all operating equipment.

  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels and requisitions.

  • Ensure proper handovers at the end of each shift.

4. Service delivery and compliance

  • Provide internal customer service in line with CTICC standards.

  • Respond to special requests professionally and timeously.

  • Ensure equipment is delivered to venues and returned to stores as required.

  • Adhere to CTICC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Support CTICC’s compliance with ISO 22000 (Food Safety) ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety).

Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications and experience required:

  • Must have Matric or equivalent (NQF Level 4).

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in storeroom, inventory, or back-of-house operations within hospitality, catering, or events.

  • Demonstrated experience in stock control, equipment handling, and event support.

  • Exposure to large-scale event preferred.

  • Must be computer literate with the ability to utilize the full Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of stock management principles and loss control.

  • Familiarity with international health, safety, and hygiene standards such as ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 compliance advantageous).
